I have a Stellar Pink. It blooms just as the leaves are forming but the floral display is still great. It's nice to have a dogwood blooming about the time the typical C florida trees are finishing - extends the season. I think it's sterile, hence no fruit but I'm no expert. As for the anthracnose questions, I'll definitely leave to folks more knowledgeable.
