Normally, I'd agree with you on the black. But it will go on a very old chain link fence that is a dark rusted color. The reason I started painting the items is that rust colored to black were sort of blending in with the fence.

I am sort of partial to the purple so far as well but wondered if there might be a better one given the painted portions.
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.
