Thanks for the quick reply. The area is about 2K feet - half flat and half sloped. I have tried to keep the strings 2" above but is just not something I am good at. The head will often get pulled down and created bald spots. If I had the luxury of laying the bottom of the trimmer head on the grass (2 inches away) I would not have to make any height adjustments.
