I was surprised the birds were even interested when I first saw them stop by (those flowers are not the tubular and cup shapes they usually prefer) but evidently the nectar is abundant enough to bring them back over and over.

The best succulent draws for hummingbirds (in my experience) are aloes and Echeverias, plus a few of their respective family members. Also some terrestrial bromeliads. My goal for a while is to always have hummingbird flowers going in our patio container garden (almost all succulents) and for the past several years I have been successful. I often hear them (their version of peeping is more like clicking) before I see them. When 2 arrive at the same time, 1 is promptly made to leave. Smiling
