I took a pic of the adenium yesterday just so I could compare it to when it first was repotted and pruned at the end of June. I made the 6" pot the exact number of pixels to be able to compare before and after, and looks like the caudex started out at 1-3/4" dia, and is now 2-5/8" dia. I'm glad I decided to prune it then to help it branch out more, even if it did mean I stopped it from blooming this summer. I had raised it about 1" when I repotted it, and when I removed some of the potting mix after 3 weeks or so, it effectively raised the caudex a bit more. I'm really surprised at how fast they grow. Does the caudex shrink some during winter with much less watering?
