Yes, I did grow some Disa years ago. I did ok for a couple of years, but then I went on vacation. Disas and vacation don't mix too well.
People had some interesting set ups which included some moving water flow around the plants.

We saw Disa cornuta growing in the Fynbos vegetation at the most Southern tip of Africa/Cape Hope.

I do remember the ground being very loose/light.
