Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself, & hopefully pick the brains of the superior minds here.
Forgive me if this is a bit lengthy, but I think some background might be helpful. My mom has always been the one with the green-thumb in our family, & some twenty years of renting my own place has passed between now & the last time I lived at home, & today I am a new home-owner here in Amarillo, & my passion for roses has not waned.
I am however a bit nervous of striking out, since Mamma was always the one that could root a tree from a dead stick, & I've never actually had to make the executive decisions about location, amount of fertilizer, etc. I feel childish saying so, but looking back, all I really had to do was occasionally water them, perhaps prune or train unruly shoots, & literally sit-back & smell the roses. Oh, how we only know how good we had it... Rolling my eyes.
So I've got a spot picked out, & a couple/few varieties narrowed down, (& questions about both,) but I'm not sure if I should post here or in the "Rose" section. Besides, I don't want to turn this post into a book anyway, so we'll just leave it at "Hello" for now Smiling I look forward to learning & sharing as I grow.
Cheers, Cotton
