I have always dead headed plants as much as i can.Does anyone else dead head their purslane to get more flowers? I was dead heading one of mine and noticed some i had only removed the bloom in the past and others i had removed the bloom and the (don't know what to call it) but the green thing that the bloom emerges from. Some of the ones left had dried and i could see the black seeds in it.Can you leave some of the blooms on until the dry out and then remove the seeds or will it reseed itself?

What about dead heading portulaca will that cause any problems with the plant reseeding and coming back the next year?
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!
