@Gerris2, could you refresh my memory? I don't pursue Ipomoea nil as feverishly as I once did, but I always grow a few. Last year @bluespiral shared some old seeds from her collection and I found a 13 year old packet with 1 seed remaining that I had sent her from my own plants in a long ago trade.
I seem to recall that you may have coined the "Xiong's Chinese" moniker because of your original source. Was the name changed or is my poor memory really just an alternate reality? I appreciate you, or anyone, setting me straight. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it now that it is blooming in my garden again. I don't want to use the wrong name for it.
