Bluespiral said: Alana and Joseph - thank you for posting this one - In my mind's eye, I can see the ghosts of the Blue Gate Garden's morning glories, buds bursting to open when tomorrow's dawn comes...and the gardeners who shared them - remember the Japanese samurai's creations from around the early 1800s - was Galaxy on the Beach one of those? and Emma's grey Ipomoea nil from a Russian lady? One of those survived our winters a few years. And Dr. Yoneda's yougiro (sp?) crosses that transformed some of those large silky Ipomoea nils too well mannered to produce many flowers into uninhibited, prolific snoot snappers via Ipomoea purpurea - no botanical Miss Manners going on there.

The framing to the Blue Gate garden somehow walked off by itself, along with the tapestry of ground covering perennials and some of the amended topsoil they were growing in - grass seed seems to have sown itself, along with transplanted clumps/plugs of various grasses - I seem to recall a wish for a parking lot there once - even though I've been clear about not wanted to sell.

Growing out and sharing these morning glories with my late dh was an adventure of enchantment and discovery that your posts here affirm is continuing into the future with other gardeners in other places.

Trying to bring back my garden has felt like Don Quixote battling with the windmill - I know it's not likely - but isn't gardening sometimes like that - battling the seemingly impossible for the sake of what may appear to others like an irrational dream?

Hi Karen,

Good luck reclaiming your garden. It's been a long time since last we shared messages. My condolences on your husband's passing. If you or anyone else reading this post would like to grow some different morning glory cultivars, let me know. I'm in need of seriously downsizing my seed collection. The seeds are viable and need a good home.

I was banished from Ron Kushner's Facebook groups. He started harassing me and I left one group. Then he blocked me from his groups and summarily unfriended me. Life is better now. I thought you would like to know this given his history with you.
