Speaking of diversions… Rolling my eyes. reminds me of the time I found a fairy ring in the pasture. Really was a perfect circle …🧚🏽‍♂️🧚‍♀️🧚🏽‍♂️ Definition of the growth of a fairy ring fungi begins in the center of the ring expanding outward in a relatively uniform, circular pattern.
It was formed from a pile of leaves left all winter to decompose . Then after the pile was removed a few days later the ring formed. Haven't seen one since. It was really quite a magical sight at 4'x4' perfectly round dotted with mushrooms.
English and Celtic folklore, fairy rings were caused by fairies or elves dancing in a circle. It was said that if humans joined in the dance they would be punished by the fairies, and made to dance in the ring until they passed out from exhaustion.
