We usually buy local only, but Tulip World had a variety of clematis I wanted, and I caved. And stupidly, I did not check their online reviews, which hover around ONE (only because ZERO is not an option). I ordered 2 of the clematis and couple echinacea and Phlox. When the plants finally got here, they were dried up and appeared to be quite dead. I tried planting them right away, and three months later, one clematis has survived, but just barely. It's trying, but is only a couple inches tall. The other plants did not come back to life, so I contacted Tulip World after a couple weeks and sent a picture. They said they send their plants in a "dormant stage", so to give them 6 to 8 weeks to grow. What a line. That "6 to 8 weeks" puts you past their refund policy, as they very well know. Now they are claiming the DOA plants were my fault and I cannot get my money back. They did offer me a TW gift certificate, but I really have no need for more dead plants. Looking at reviews online, I am not the only customer they have cheated; dead plants and refusing refunds seem to be their M.O. So far, I have written reviews on the top sites and BBB, and I have more to do tomorrow. Know that they also operate under other names, such as Holland Bulb Farm and Beautiful Holland Bulbs. According to reviews, they cheat customers under those names, as well. So a big BUYER BEWARE on Tulip World and their aliases; they are shady shady shady!
