I am happy to report, we have another possibility here -

our BigBill mentions this:
"For what it is worth, Nugget's Cymbidium might be suffering from insect and/or critter damage.
When I enlarged the image, it was no where near clear, but I think I see shallow holes, tiny gouges, bite marks say from small snails, slugs, caterpillars or beetles.
The browning on the flowers could be as a result of munching. "
