I grow mine in pots. I did not get blooms I think because my summers were not long enough or hot enough not a problem this year.

I bring the pot inside and keep it in the laundry room and give it a sip of water once a month or so. It never dies down totally. This seem to insure I saw blooms at least by the end of July beginning of August.

This is the process I use with all my tropical plants. I try to give them the environment of tropical or at least a zone 8 or 9. It is not totally dry in soil in the ground so I do not treat the bulbs plants to dried out in a bag.

My reasoning is if a plant can live in the ground in higher zones and unless you live in the desert there would be some moisture a certain level temp which is above freezing. So I try the do a zone growing in the pot without disturbing the root and natural growing conditions.
