By Arizona standards this is a swamp plant.
It's the only plant I have that's in a pot that doesn't drain well. I water it twice a week, and leave water in the saucer.
It's under a plant light, and does not go outdoors, even to the patio, in summer.
It is fussy.
So, as Sue said, if this doesn't grow I'd try something else.
