I wouldn't invest in this until you know specifically what weeds you have. From your description, I wonder if you have bindweed loose in your lawn. This will not kill bindweed.

Identify the weeds you are attempting to kill and 'weeds' you want to keep before using broad species herbicides.
Neither of these products can be sold in California so I would also read everything I could find about environmental damages and safest application.
