I agree with Gina, your
Split-Leaf Philodendron (Monstera deliciosa) will do much better if it has a structure to climb. Many people place moss poles in their planter pots but I often wonder how they extend the length of the moss pole when the plant attaches to it and climbs higher and higher. I'm in zone 10a Sebastian, Fl and I sat my Monstera beneath a tree in our backyard a few years ago where it's grown a lot wider but hasn't started climbing the tree yet. If you plan to keep yours as a container plant, it may need a little larger pot and as suggested, a moss pole or a heavy tree branch planted in the pot so that it has something to cling to and climb.
