I missed the Poinsettia discussion until I looked it up just now, but yes that's what I'm talking about.
That shot across the bow has been taken. Just wait and see where it goes from here. At least there isn't a single organization dedicated to regulating names like there is for birds. The only thing is that the U.S. government identifies organisms that need protecting or regulating and they will choose the names for those in official documents.
