Disbelieve that I'd be planting a cool season grass like fescue where the summers get hot.
Considering the water issues out in southern California.... Turf seems like a very poor choice...
Aren't they trying to convince homeowners to plant a more sustainable ground cover?
At my house in the sandhills, I have Bahia grass growing down the centre of my driveway... never requires a drop of supplemental water in the sandhills... always stays green...
And... apparently grows in California....
Pretty good choice for someone stuck on turf...
Personally, I don't have room for turf... but seems like too much work to dig it back out of my driveway.
