Was it an asparagus fern? Whatever it is, it looks very dead. But if it just got too dry and you added water before the roots had completely shriveled up, there could be hope. As drought-tolerant as asparagus fern is, that seems likely.

The good news is, if that is what your plant was, they are a pretty common sight to find as a houseplant, or sold as a yard weed in warmer climates.
