Not all plants flower all the time. Some trees, for instance, are on annual cycles. Conifers will have bounty cone crops for a few years, then nothing for a while - squirrel populations boom and crash as a result (in wild forests).

I would not worry about the violet flowering. Give it time. A break. Relish the delicious texture of the leaves, now that you can see them without all those flowers in the way.
