I have 78 acres, mostly woodland, 4 pastures for my horses. What I did was spread winter rye in those cleared areas, and the deer liked that much better than the food and flower plots. It was a pretty green with horses and deer munching down on it. I spent a lot of effort that didn't help at all before I found something that helps with the deer. Squirrels haven't been an issue for me - not so for armadillos, possums, and raccoons. Best of luck to you!
