Kenisaac, thank you. I am actually more concerned about our summer heat. It would be on the west side of our house but would get dappled shade from a post oak. I had a dwarf Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Kiyohime') in that spot that survived 9 years but succumbed to the stresses of a couple of exceptionally cold winters followed by a couple of hotter than usual summers. I will try to find out through our local garden club and Native Plant Society of Texas if anyone has tried to grow it. I appreciate your response. Any additional thoughts? Thanks, again.
