Those are saltmarsh caterpillars, and they are stripping the mint. There is another one also named a garden tiger moth caterpillar, what you didn't see is the smilax skeletonizers, and the army worms, and what I named a webworm is a tent caterpillar, have no clue what the neon green caterpillar was, and every single one is a moth., but only some of what has all shown up at the same time trying to strip everything in the trees, garden, porch...and they will be coming north. Birds cannot even make a dent in the massive numbers, but most of my birds won't touch them. I cut the mint to the ground and killed another dozen of them, but the mint will regrow, and I need to restuff that bed anyway.
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!
