A few years back I went on a garden tour here in town and there was one where the owners made most of their backyard into a fish pond. They stretched netting all across their backyard from fence to fence to keep the blue herons out. Those guys will come right into the middle of town if they deem it worthwhile. Anyway it seemed to be working for them!
