If you bought it after season, it could have produced a bloom spike in the store and then died back before you bought it. You will probably have to wait until next season for blooms, though, if you're lucky you could possibly see flowers this summer or fall ...depending on how out of whack its internal clock is. The "natural" bloom season for most Hippeastrum cultivars is spring to early summer, and a few varieties will bloom a couple of times once they obtain a large enough size & age.
