No mumbling!
Remember how Hermine (from the Harry Potter books) could float a feather while other wizard trainees couldn't, even with the same incantation....
It's all in the delivery!

I had forgotten about Darm's info. I have his two papers save on my PC.
Looking back at my records, I have not tried straight L. leichtlinii from seed! I guess since I have reputable plants from the Species Lily Preservation Group, it hasn't been a priority. I have started seed of L. leichtlinii var. maximowiczii wild collected in Japan. Out of 20 good seeds (unfrozen), one seed germinated in the first warm treatment after 43 days, but most didn't emerge until they went through a natural winter. All are epigeal.
From Darm:
"Pot up after the bulblets start growing a root system."
That's pretty ambiguous. You're going to have to use your best judgement with that. My L. l. var. maximowiczii seeds are planted in a 5 inch deep pot, so I left them be. My L. pyrenaicum seeds are growing in an 8 inch deep pot, and #1 nursery pots (bit less than a gallon), as I anticipated a long wait. I only wish I would have used a more porous soil mix because in time it becomes more dense.
