I know why it's been so quickly contained even with the massive amount of wind & the extreme dryness: this area (Pinery / Hilltop) has multi-million dollar homes. If it was a poor neighborhood like mine, eh, who cares. But these houses here are like 6,000SqFt & up, big McMansions. Plus one of the richest highschools in the city (Ponderosa High) was right in the path.

We got a smidgen (ie: enough to make the windows dirty) of snow right as the fire was spreading so horribly.. I'm hoping that helped. But I'm 100% sure that my area of town will be safe.
