They don't step in the poop because they never go outside to walk or pick up after their dogs. You would have to get off the couch, put on some clothes, put down your beer, and move your sorry self. These neighbors only exert themselves when yelling at or hitting their children. Occasionally the head out for pizza, beer or junk food. I have a back yard hosta garden. My neighbors on one side have knee tall weeds and dog poop. The townhome complex won't cut the grass because of the poop. My neighbor on the other side has dirt and weeds. He just moved out, who knows what is moving in.
As I am packing up my things and digging my plants, I think of all of the things I won't miss about this place and smile. No place is perfect, but this place is worse than I could have ever imagined.
