Andi said:Rita, I love your gardens!

My roses are gorgeous this year. It is a shame to cut them back and dig them out when they are so gorgeous, but they are surviving in their pots.

I am moving the end of the month to my new place. I am so happy!!! It is a chore to dig everything out, but will be fun to plan new plant combos. I'll have more living and gardening space and a shed for all my garden tools!

I currently live in a townhome complex. Lately, it has turned into a bad bipolar reality show. I look forward to being able to sit on my patio smelling my roses instead of the neighbor's junkyard dog s*&^! In the new place, I will have some space between myself and whatever kind of crazy decided to move next door.

However, I suspect that I will have problems with deer.....

Moving house is the ultimate garden makeover. When I did this 4 years ago, I found I was so focused on making the garden look good that I planted things too close together. It looked good the first year, but I have been giving plants away and making space adjustments ever since.

My first rose of the year, Granada (grown in a container) and purchased as a bare root rose this spring,
