Sans were the only plants of my mom-in-law that survived their month long flooding a couple of years ago in the Phil, her garden in about 3 feet of water. The plants thrived in it..but I guess what kept them going is the consistent hot tropical temps they have..85F to 95F. I think as long as the temps are mild and not too cold, the plants will not mind getting a lot of watering even standing water as such. By mild I'd say temps around 65 to 70F. Just my observation.
