Gardening keeps me connected to the
Fragrant flowers in Summer? Chionanthus retusus or C. virginicus are around 8 metres and have white fringe-like scented flowers in early summer. Laburnum X watereri 'Vossii' is around 6 metres and has lightly scented pendant chains of yellow pea flowers in early Summer, and will tolerate tough conditions such as poor dry soil. There are many lovely fragrant Summer flowering small trees, but from places like NZ or Chile, needing shelter from wind and mild winters.
