Thank you Tiffany,

I just typed a long message and lost the whole thing! Grrr!! So I will try to recreate it.

All the houseplants are watered with tap water. I do let it set to gas off but it is not filtered. I will not buy water for plants. And being it is winter no rain water. Can I melt snow?

All the plants have been repotted/resoiled several times. But yes, the soil does get compacted. Besides the ones I repotted yesterday the others were resoiled about 3 weeks ago.

The Dracaena will be back in the sunnier den in a month after the remodel. I could move it to work I suppose. I am especially interested to see if the tops I cut off and potted up will survive. They have the best foliage!

The peace lily is not in the best shape. I have had the most trouble with this one of the plants. I thought the brown tips were from it being too dry in the house. But now I see it is perhaps the tap water. Sad Like I said it has never bloomed. I thought it was because it was too shaded. You should have seen what happened when I put it in full sun! Aaack. Quickly returned it to the dark corner. Maybe I need to find an in between light spot for it.
Ok I am confused on what is a palm. I thought this was the palm:

But now I understand this is the palm:

Yes, it does get big. I have divided it several times
