These plants are some kind of Brugmansia. Scent only 'active' at night.

Rhapsody, joy of smell is definitely in the nose of the be-smeller, but have you for sure sniffed this kind? I really didn't enjoy it. Didn't want to gag like some Narcissus but I won't go out of my way to sniff these anymore.

I wonder what kind of Datura would be in Utah? Jimsonweed (D. inoxia?) DH's Mom has a D. stramonium at her house but I've never detected any scent. Sniffing after dark might be needed.

Thanks for the input! I'll keep an open mind if I encounter another Hoya with blooms. After all of the heartbreak with Jasmines (speaking of!!) over the years, I have a policy against having any plant just for the scented flowers - if I don't enjoy just the leaves too.

There's definitely space in the yard to 'try' other plants. I'll be looking for other color Brugs when trading this summer! Thanks for the encouragement.

Ginger, I forgot to ask above, what colors do you have? My Plumeria cuttings still look great, BTW!!
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
