Dirtdorphins, your method works for you, they bloom that's all that matters.

I think the short days of winter made mine go dormant, the leaves looked crappy so I cut them off, stopped watering and stuck it in a dark cool cupboard in the mudroom, we shall see what happens in a few weeks. Shrug!
