Amaryllis are my spring bulb of choice. I've scored them on sale for as little as $3 each after the holidays, but didn't get to go looking yet this year. All the good ones are probably gone. They come back faithfully, multiply and bloom wonderfully for me in the garden every spring.

Edited to add, I've seen them in gardens as far north as Savannah, so they'd do fine even for you northern FL folks.
