Cindi - I understand about cottonwoods.. I live in the "Cottonwood" subdivision of my city & there's the cotton-spewing cottonwoods EVERYWHERE. One HELL of a mess in the spring. BLEH. Hate it, but what can you do? In my back yard, a silver maple was planted. Great tree, grows super fast, provides tons of shade, snaps & shatters in every early snow storm & high-wind storm we get. Typical. That being said, I bought & planted an itty-bitty redbud yesterday.. "Oklahoma" cultivar. Depends on which site you look at, can get between 12-20ft, which is fine by me. But also depends on which site you look at if it's a zone 4, 5, 6, or 7!! Seriously? What trees did you get?

What all did you order from Edmunds? Did you get that Kashmir? And your Europeana purples? Mine stays pure red from start to finish.. huh. Don't have Chrysler Imperial or Olympiad. Actually, don't have many reds. Ooh, what about Firefighter? That's a beautiful red that stays red for me from start to finish, and smells heavenly, too! Showbiz? I don't have Showbiz 'cuz it doesn't have a scent.
Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet...
