Keep thinking I'm sure re that peony and then changing my mind.

Interesting that your plant appears to show the kind of flower variation that my one (or two) did.

I did read that the flowers on a "bomb type" peony cultivars can be quite variable, with only some flowers going on to become (fully) globular.

Not sure what to think.

Re date of bloom: it's an early peony.
Perhaps I missed seeing any noticeable light yellowish centre by the picture the next day.
I didn't notice fragrance. Will check next year.
