Southold, Long Island, NY (Zone 7a)
Region: Ukraine Dahlias I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Houseplants Tomato Heads Garden Ideas: Level 1
Plant Identifier Photo Contest Winner: 2014 Million Pollinator Garden Challenge Celebrating Gardening: 2015
All three were volunteers that I had no choice but to dig up in May. They've survived the summer and the two (left and right) are about 3 - 4" tall, while the center one (found near Ryusen so I have high hopes) is about 6 - 7" tall.

Another one, not shown, had been left in place for three years and is now about 3' tall. I potted it in July and it's fine...so far.

Do I put them all in the unheated garage for the winter? Do they get watered once a week or once a month?

We have an indoor, unheated porch, but with doors to two bedrooms it never gets cold. The minimum night time temperature would be around 55 but daytime temperatures go up to 90 for a few hours on sunny days.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
