Oh maybe you should! This white one and the plain purple one, I dug up on the side of the road, lol. The white was at an old abandoned houseplace, they had white & purple growing and the one I dug up was small but near the big blooming white one. I just prayed it was white. It was. I dug the purple one from another area a mile down the road from our house where there were only purple vines growing. My Amethyst Falls plant, I did buy and it boasted of being a rebloomer. Sometimes it does. They are planted on a metal trellis near a utility pole with a power transformer that brings the electrical power to our home. We had so much rain last spring and for way into half of the summer, they just went wild and I just didn't really pay attention to them, as they are in the far corner of the yard and once the blooms are gone, then I'm really not looking at them much, you kno? I guess it was mid August when I looked, and behold, they had jumped the trellis, wound around the utility pole & to my horror had climbed up the pole! I ran for my lopping shears to quickly take the naughty unruly children, but quickly thought better of it with the birds eye view I had standing at the foot of the pole. Thank God I looked up, because I had my metal handle lopps poised and I was ready to cut, till I saw my tenatious baby was kinda in the transformer. I stopped DEAD in my tracks, don't kno if this would have lit me up or not, but since I wished to live to garden another day, I swallowed my pride and made an embarrassed call to the power company. They came out in a couple days and cut the rambunctious trio of vines from the pole & transformer. The boys laughingly told my hubby Joe they had been very busy for three weeks cutting the same darn vines from poles & transformers, that they reckoned all the dadgum women in the county must have planted those devilish vines next to power poles, so even though I still felt sheepish, I felt a little better. At least I wasn't the ONLY one who had been neglectful. But yes, do try again, but look on the side of the road for purple ones.
