The "Butterfly Ginger" must be the hardiest of all! I have had mine in a pot, simple plastic pot for years. I do think it is time to give it a bit more space. It is amazing no matter how cold it gets, I think it is gone and it comes right back up! We have had some pretty strong freezes, thus surprising me with another year. I will have to learn about the "Shampoo ginger." Once I realized they could go all over my garden, I have just kept it simple in the ginger department! Lots of amaryllis, daylilies, and daffodils though.

Wishing you all improved health for 2015 and happy garden time---even if adapted!
