You're waiting to cut them back in the Spring after the threat of freeze/frost has passed, aren't you?

I usually wait longer than "the threat has passed time-frame", since sometimes we get an unexpected frost/freeze that surprises everyone. Same thing for Agastaches.

Salvias seem to be late of showing life in the Spring, maybe they'll still leaf out.
