I would definitely save the peony. I have three rental properties and I know people think plants are not valuable but they add to the value of the property.
I had a drunk driver knock down a lilac bush on one of my property and the insurance company said it was valued at 600.00.
Apple tree was struck by lightening, took out the fence. The tree 500.00, fence 600.00, cut up and removal of the tree 200.00. The apple tree was almost as valuable as the fence. I say save the peony. They are valuable.
