That's probably a cucumber beetle. They are very destructive and extremely hard (if not impossible) to kill. Although present all during the growing season, they are particularly prevalent here in the fall when they start shredding the roses, Helianthus, Asters etc. The damage you point out on your daylily is typical. Some years are worse then others.....Very distinctive daylilies btw Fred. Really nice patterns......Maryl
