I have ordered about 20 peonies, all but two are herbaceous. They are for the botanical garden (donation) to fill out their Gold Medal Winners. I hope they all arrive as ordered but we know how that goes. We will plant them in the research plot and find out what was really sent next spring. Hopefully by then we will have more space in the main gardens for them. I hate to plant them in one spot this fall then in another next spring but not much choice.
One of the horticulturists planted many new ones last year but many died. I have pretty much pinned down the ones that died. That leaves the ones he planted and didn't label. All in one bed and all deep red or wine colored doubles. Very difficult to tell apart, if not impossible for us. None of us are experts in peonies.
