Not wanting to rain on your parade, they are not bad for a first try, but there are quite a lot of gaps and in the end those grafts probably will be weak spots. Compare:

Still a small gap but the cambium has joined up well, which is key. Keep trying, Mark!!
Gigi you can use any tape! And I would say September is your last good month for grafting.
