I find that evergreens go dormant here, and many do just fine. A few have been troublesome though. This one has been slow to increase. I've had it about 5 years now, and it's finally decided to make a decent clump. Some years it's more mauve in color, and this year it's more violet. Many of my DL's have had more intense color this year for some reason. Maybe it's all the rain we've had this year. Shrug!
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
