I like this Vanda very much, nice color and nice shape!

Regarding the clipped Vanda, I could imagine it was an accidental cut.
And about the ridges, full- terete Vandas might have that ridged characteristic, if the plant looks otherwise healthy with good roots etc, I would chalk it up to that.

Except - I just looked at the parents, they are both strap-leaved Vandas as far as I can tell. And the Vanda Gypsy's Rocket is also strap-leaved. Strange! Either this is mis -identified or there is something weird going on.
