Becky, I was just addressing your question of what midseason means, in your case it would appear to be May, not July-August as you were pondering.

As far as fertilizer is concerned, it's hard to compare with Bill's, which is what I understood you were trying to do. Different climate, different soil/media, and potentially a different amount of fertilizer, and without knowing the amount being applied by both of you, e.g. lbs per acre of N per year.
