I planted "yellow" (how's that for a description Whistling ) purslane in April and it bloomed beautifully until about the 2nd week of Ocotober.

Portulaca, for the past 2 years, comes up from seed, blooms, and quits. Not sure why as before that, it would bloom much longer.

I love all the vibrant colors and doubles that portulaca offers but it doesn't last as long as purslane - for me....
